Privacy Policy
Effective August 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Tapline ("Tapline," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and services (the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your business name, email address, and password, plus optional details like your logo and brand color.
Subscriber information. Businesses using Tapline may upload or collect email addresses and phone numbers from their own customers, for the purpose of sending those customers announcements.
Payment information. Billing is handled by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not store your credit card details — Stripe collects and processes that information directly under its own privacy policy.
Facebook and Instagram information. If you connect a Facebook Page and/or Instagram account, we collect and store your Page ID, Page name, a Page access token, and (if applicable) your Instagram Business Account ID and username. This information is used solely to publish your own announcements to your own connected Page and Instagram account, exactly as you direct through the Service. We do not use this information for advertising, do not sell it, and do not share it with any third party except as required to operate the Service (i.e., sending your posts to Meta's API on your behalf).
Usage information. Standard technical information like IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected automatically as part of running the Service.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and maintain your account and the Service
- Send the email and social announcements you create through the Service
- Process billing through Stripe
- Communicate with you about your account
- Improve and secure the Service
3. How We Store and Protect Information
- Account and subscriber data is stored in a hosted MongoDB database.
- Uploaded photos are stored via Cloudflare R2.
- Connected Facebook Page access tokens are encrypted at rest before being stored.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure.
4. Facebook Platform Data
Tapline integrates with Meta's Graph API to let you publish content to your own Facebook Page and Instagram account. Your use of this integration is also subject to Meta's Platform Terms and Data Policy. We only request the Facebook/Instagram permissions necessary to publish posts on your behalf, and we do not access, use, or share data from your Facebook or Instagram account beyond what's needed for that purpose.
5. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies necessary to operate the Service: a session cookie to keep you logged in, and short-lived cookies used only during the Facebook/Instagram connection process, which are cleared automatically once that process completes. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your account and subscriber information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data — including any connected Facebook or Instagram credentials — at any time by emailing us at the address below. We will delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable time, except where we're required to retain certain records (e.g., billing records) by law.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the effective date above when we do.
